Short film 'Millennia' (release date tbc), based on the paranoia and conspiracy that arose with the turn of the new millennium.
The film remains in one location, with one central character within a closed set that we built and rigged ourselves. As we were working in a blacked out space and the film was set throughout the course of an evening, the lighting was continually changing to become our main indicator of time.
This was my first time working on a set and my first real time lighting a space, and saw me up ladders rigging up the internal and external lighting and rewiring through the walls of the set itself, and while stressful, the experience really made me fall in love with the craft, how hands on it really is and what lighting can do for the atmosphere of a scene.
